In Cordoba, Argentina, Lockheed Martin Aircraft Argentina S.A. (LMAASA) is a full-service regional aircraft maintenance and modification center. It provides depot-level maintenance for the Argentine Air Force, and other military and commercial customers. LMAASA employs approximately 1200 people and operates as part of the Lockheed Martin Aeronautics business area.
In 1999, Lockheed Martin completed the modification of 27 A-4M Skyhawks to the A-4AR Fightinghawk configuration for the Argentine Air Force. The upgraded aircraft are equipped with modernized avionics, engines and radar.
Also in 1999, LMAASA center delivered a new IA-63 Pampa jet trainer to the Argentine Air Force. The aircraft is a single-engine, advanced pilot trainer. Nineteen aircraft were originally built during the 1980s by the Fabrica Militar de Aviones, the Argentine military depot that was privatized by Lockheed Martin in 1995. LMAASA continues delivery of the IA-63 through 2009.
Lockheed Martin has installed the MTM100 vessel traffic management system in Bahia Blanca enhancing the security and safety of shipping in this southern port, and is in discussion with Argentine authorities to upgrade this reliable system.

Argentina also operates Lockheed Martin's venerable P-3 Orion maritime surveillance aircraft.
