As a result of the 1995 corporate merger, Lockheed Martin inherited from Martin Marietta its New Delhi office. With the Indian economy growing at over 8% and the simultaneous strengthening of Indo-US relationship over last few of years, Lockheed Martin upgraded its Indian presence in 2005 and relocated the office to enable better support for marketing teams from the U.S. Within the span of one year, Lockheed Martin successfully established its brand in Indian military circles. At the same time, Lockheed Martin aggressively pursued opportunities in selected areas of military hardware for all the three services (Navy, Army and Air Force) apart from civil applications in the field of postal service and civil aviation.
