Although Lockheed Martin Commercial Engine Solutions began engine maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) operations in Montreal in 2013, the facility itself has a rich, 40+ year history of performing engine MRO, under previous owners. Since 2013, several former customers are sending their engines, again, to the Montreal facility. Three – a large regional Canadian airline, an international military customer and European Aviation – have signed multi-year agreements with LMCES Montreal.
Recently, LMCES and GE Aviation signed two OnPoint solutions agreements for the material to overhaul CF6 and CF34 engines, which will ensure that our customers will have access to high-quality OEM material, should that be their preference.
As the sister facility of Lockheed Martin Commercial Engine Solutions San Antonio, Montreal adds full MRO services and back shop repairs for the CFM56-2 and -5 and CF34 engines to the long list of LMCES product lines, which includes commercial CF6-50 and CF6-80, and CFM56-3 and -7 engines as well as aircraft engines for U.S. and international governments.
The two world-class facilities total more than one million square feet, including six state-of-the-art test cells, providing nearly unlimited capacity. LMCES Montreal is a Lockheed Martin Canada division. Both sites are part of the Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company.
