Space Systems
The sky's not the limit at Lockheed Martin, where we're helping our customers turn vision into reality with critical space missions. We're harnessing the power of space with capable, efficient and cost-effective systems to help businesses and governments, citizens and entrepreneurs, scientists and peacekeepers move our world from what is, to what can be.
Lockheed Martin capabilities address the complete range of space systems requirements including launch services; the design, manufacture and integration of on-orbit systems; and spacecraft operations on the ground. The goal: An integrated approach with a commitment to performance that provides assured and reliable access to space, and focuses on cost effective solutions.
Lockheed Martin space systems capabilities include:
At Lockheed Martin, we bring the advantages of space-based systems down to Earth. Breakthroughs in telecommunications, navigation, remote sensing, space transportation, and planetary explorations are changing the way we talk, see, think, work and live.
Examples of critical missions our space systems and technologies support include:
- Support to the human space flight program
- Orbiting observatories and telescopes that extend the field of vision to the very origins of life
- Critical national security payloads that gather intelligence and provide protected connectivity
- Sophisticated spacecraft that capture high-resolution images and relay information back to Earth
We realize that for our customers, critical space payloads represent their future. When it's time to put their future into orbit, we only have one chance to get it right. From national security to telecommunications, weather forecasting to planetary exploration, every mission is critical. Our customers are relentlessly focused on their missions. And so are we.
Ground Systems
Lockheed Martin ground systems support advanced mission control capabilities and effective data-collection services, while also ensuring continuous communications with the spacecraft. Ultimately, our ground support helps protect the safety of spaceflight crews as well as the valuable spacecraft assets and integrity of all customer missions.
