In December 2002, Lockheed Martin signed its first contract with Albania for Airspace Modernization. This work has been recently extended and air traffic modernization continues.
In August 2006, Lockheed Martin signed the second major contract in Albania for an Integrated Coastal Surveillance System, which includes command centers, shore based marine radars and voice communications equipment. This system will assist Albania to meet the needs of many different missions critical to Albania’s national sovereignty, priorities and national economy as Albania looks forward to membership in NATO and the European Union.
