Orion

Orion, an advanced crew capsule, is a key component of NASA's Vision for Space Exploration, and will succeed the Space Shuttle in transporting a new generation of human explorers to and from the International Space Station, the Moon, and eventually to Mars and beyond.

Utilizing an affordable, staged approach to accomplishing these missions, Orion will be safer, more reliable, more affordable and more operationally efficient than previous human space flight systems. Orion will transport up to six crew members to and from the International Space Station, and up to four crew members for lunar missions.

The Lockheed Martin Orion team brings premier human space flight and exploration expertise to bear in the development of this next-generation crew transportation system. Our collective expertise in large-scale systems integration, planetary exploration, human space flight systems and operations, launch vehicles, military aircraft, and autonomous flight systems provides a critical foundation for NASA's initiative to restore vigor and public support for the nation's human spaceflight program.
