Embedded Platform Logistics System
EPLS
Every day, thousands of military vehicles support missions all over the globe. As these assets are deployed, they carry our most valuable cargo, warfighters and supplies. In order to keep these work horses delivering their most precious assets, Lockheed Martin has created the Embedded Platform Logistics System (EPLS) for the U.S. Marine Corps. EPLS streamlines how assets are tested and tracked, by embedding sensors, computers, displays and devices on board vehicles and collecting the information gathered in to databases and end-user management systems to improve the logistics information available to commanders.
EPLS has the capability to provide accurate operational status and system health reporting as well as support the DoD's condition-based maintenance efforts and the Marine Corps logistics modernization efforts. Because the system encompasses so many logistics challenges, flexibility has been a priority throughout its development. EPLS has the ability to operate in high and low intensity situations and support users at all echelons of command. As needs change, EPLS has the functionality and capability to change with them.
This tailored solution leverages many commercial off-the-shelf programs and proven Lockheed Martin logistics programs such as the Joint Asset Management and Engineering Solution (JAMES) and the Autonomic Information Logistics System (ALIS) created for the F-35 Lightning II. This advantage ensures that our solution has been proven in the field while lowering the overall cost for our customer.
With precise, accurate information on each vehicle aggregated in to easy-to-manage software solutions, EPLS is keeping our Warfighters prepared with the best equipment available to accomplish any mission they may face.
