Positive Train Control (PTC)

Lockheed Martin is applying advanced technologies, proven systems development and integration methodologies to develop a Positive Train Control (PTC) System. PTC provides a cost-effective means for both freight and passenger railroads to manage train movements by assessing occupancy and speed limits, monitoring and controlling wayside systems, and exchanging instructions and messages with locomotives.

Positive Train Control (PTC) enables the railroad industry to increase running-time reliability, track capacity, improve safety, and allow for high-speed passenger trains, resulting in cost reductions and increased efficiency.
