Intelligence Analysis Training
The Lockheed Martin Center for Security Analysis now has four courses available: Counterterrorism Analysis Course, Critical Thinking Course, Strategic Intelligence & Homeland Security and the Asymmetric Threat Operations Course. Each of these courses is open to public registration on a group or individual basis. Course Information Counterterrorism Analysis Course: This course explores analytical techniques for the purpose of countering and defeating terrorism.  Attendees learn to analyze, interpret, and apply threat-profiling techniques to vast amounts of terrorism data, and produce a multi-discipline intelligence product in accordance with current intelligence community needs. Subjects include the origins of terrorism, roots of Islamic Fundamentalism, and analytical techniques such as link and time event analysis, center of gravity analysis, and threat profiling.
Critical Thinking Course: Critical thinking has been widely recognized in the Intelligence Community and elsewhere as one of the key skills that analysts require to produce reasoned, mission directed analytical results. This Course is designed to facilitate and enhance individual critical thinking skills through reflective thinking, systematic questioning, and critical reading. Attendees will also learn skills such as critical reading and writing as an integrated part of other techniques used by analysts everyday. Asymmetric Threat Operations Course: This course provides the attendee with a foundational understanding of the myriad of non-conventional threats we face today.  The course will concentrate on the goals and methods of insurgency operations, guerrilla warfare, terrorism, and stability and humanitarian operations along with strategic communications, propaganda, and psychological operations.  Attendees will also gain an understanding of a wide-range of asymmetric tactics, techniques and procedures used in asymmetric warfare.  From a US perspective, attendees will conduct a thorough review of our special operations community and the types of operations they conduct. Strategic Intelligence & Homeland Security: This course is designed for Homeland Security and other enterprise employees in order to develop a broad understanding of strategic intelligence. It prepares intelligence, law enforcement and security professionals, and interested public parties to understand and support missions including securing our homeland, defending the citizenry, and protecting the national infrastructure.  Our attendees develop a detailed overview of the intelligence community - its organizations, its operations, and the decision making process it supports.  The understanding enable attendees to better support senior officials, policymakers, the Department of Homeland Security, the intelligence community, the Executive Branch, other federal, state, local, territorial, and tribal partners.
