Continuing our tradition of developing innovative, cutting-edge technologies in a partnership environment, Lockheed Martin's UK Swift Laboratory, located in Farnborough, Hampshire, is designed to help our customers develop indigenous network-enabled solutions of tomorrow. Swift provides a unique facility in industry to experiment, test and evaluate capabilities that integrate sensors, analysis centres, operators and front-line responders. It allows military and civilian government customers to transform their solutions and create new operational concepts and test them to improve mission performance and information sharing before they are needed. Swift is a world-class laboratory created to address our customer's most challenging operational demands. Through close collaboration with operational users, industry partners and academia, the lab creates innovative solutions focused on such leading-edge capabilities as multi-intelligence information fusion; intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance; mission management; integrated situational awareness; command and control; event management and geospatial analysis. Swift brings together a team of highly trained subject matter experts and specialists in systems integration, operational analysis, and modeling and simulation in a reconfigurable, state-of-the-art experimentation facility. The team focuses on advanced concepts and initiatives that seek to bring military and civilian organisations together with pertinent Lockheed Martin resources to stress, measure and quickly improve situations in a realistic network enabled facility. The Swift Lab has recently been upgraded to include full-function, advanced military fighter cockpits to add further realism to network enabled scenarios.
