Lockheed Martin UK Announces Alan McCormick as Vice President and Managing Director LMUK INSYS
London, UK, 12 August 2009 - Lockheed Martin UK has announced the appointment of Alan McCormick as Vice President and Managing Director for Lockheed Martin UK - INSYS.
Effective immediately, McCormick will take responsibility for the Ampthill, Bedfordshire based division of Lockheed Martin UK, succeeding Stephen Ball, now Chief Executive Lockheed Martin UK.
McCormick joins from Primagraphics Company, a subsidiary of Curtiss-Wright Controls, where he was Managing Director. Prior roles include working for Siemens Plessey, Marconi's Radar Systems Division and Raytheon Systems.
"Alan's appointment recognises Lockheed Martin UK's focus on operations and delivery," said Ball. "Alan's previous experience has given him a thorough knowledge of the defence community and he has a demonstrated history of delivering to customers."
Lockheed Martin UK - INSYS plays a key part in the corporation's growth strategy and is currently delivering the Land Environment Air Picture Provision (LEAPP) and is the systems integrator for the UK Apache weapons systems. The company is also competing in the MOD's Warrior Capability Sustainment Programme where it has demonstrated its rapid proto-typing skills by going from turret design to live firing in 52 weeks.
"This is a fantastic opportunity, and I am excited to be part of the Lockheed Martin Corporation," said McCormick. "I look forward to leading the business as it continues to grow its footprint in the UK defence industry and to build a reputation characterised by innovation and transparency."
