Lockheed Martin UK (LMUK) has built upon its growing reputation for the provision of IT support to the UK Government by securing a place among an elite group of companies providing cloud computing services to a full complement of Government departments and organisations.

LMUK has been selected by the Cabinet Office to provide a range of services including infrastructure, software and specialist cloud capabilities.

The G-Cloud 2 contract succeeds the previous G-Cloud 1 programme, which LMUK was also a part of.

Under the latest framework agreement, Lockheed Martin Information Systems & Global Solutions will now offer support such as computing and storage, e-mail and collaboration, cloud strategy and integration; cloud security; mission centric activities; green IT and energy optimisation; cloud brokering; virtualisation consulting; assessment for Oracle virtualisation and virtual desktop as a service assessment.

The second iteration of the G-Cloud framework agreement, better known as CloudStore, will run for a further twelve months, replacing G-Cloud I and extending the range of IT services available to departments and agencies.
