Lockheed Martin Employees Participate in Annual Day of Service

Today, hundreds of Lockheed Martin employees, their families and friends will travel throughout the Washington Metropolitan Region to volunteer at one of four community service projects during the company's Information Systems & Global Solutions annual Day of Service.

Community service projects include:

  • Scrapbooking for Kids: Volunteers will use their arts and craft skills to create scrapbooks for families in the Lourie Center’s Head Start Program. | Gaithersburg, MD
  • Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS): Volunteers will work with the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS) to assemble resource kits and anniversary cards for the families who have suffered the loss of military loved ones. | Herndon, MD
  • Town of Herndon Department of Parks and Recreation: Volunteers will aid in the removal of invasive plant species, and will help to restore the Town of Herndon Department of Parks and Recreation’s natural habitat and wildlife species, in addition to trash removal. | Herndon, MD
  • Armed Forces Retirement Center: Volunteers will support the Armed Forces Retirement Home’s mission to fulfill a promise to our nation’s Veterans by providing a premier retirement community with exceptional residential care and extensive support services. | Washington, D.C.
