Lockheed Martin Acquires Amor Group
Announced earlier today, Lockheed Martin has acquired Amor Group, an international business technology company that specializes in solutions for the energy, transport and public services sectors.
With more than 500 employees, Amor Group is known for their industry experts who apply innovative solutions to help their customers with their toughest challenges. The addition of the company to Lockheed Martin’s Information Systems & Global Solutions (IS&GS) business area is a natural fit aligning and enhancing capabilities across the globe.
“We’re very excited to see where this acquisition will take us,” said Sondra Barbour, executive vice president, IS&GS. “Amor Group’s leadership has built strong relationships with oil and gas, transportation and government customers. Their skills and technology are an excellent complement to our portfolio.”
For example, within the transportation sector, Amor Group has developed a suite of solutions called the Chroma Airport Suite which manages more than 3 million aircraft movements and tracks 700 million passengers a year. It is operational at more than 75 airports worldwide. In correlation, Lockheed Martin’s well-established Transportation Solutions business, which serves the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration and several global customers, serves more than 60 percent of the world’s air traffic. Together, Lockheed Martin and Amor Group have a combined 60-year relationship with NATS, the UK air navigation service provider, with Lockheed Martin providing and supporting the main en-route systems, and Amor Group the key business applications.
In the energy sector, Lockheed Martin provides cyber security, energy efficiency and advanced grid management solutions to a number of utilities. Amor Group manages services, information management, process safety and security. The company’s leadership has been working within the oil and gas industry in the North Sea for more than twenty years. This, combined with the current solutions offered by the company, allows Lockheed Martin to continue expanding in an important commercial market for us.
“This new tie between Lockheed Martin and Amor Group will bring new, innovative solutions for Information Systems & Global Solutions customers worldwide,” said Barbour. “We’re excited to have them as part of the team as we continue to grow our international presence.”
