Stennis Volunteers Dedicate Three Days To Veteran Home Building
Armed with paintbrushes and cleaning supplies, 20 Lockheed Martin employees from the space systems facility in Stennis, Miss. volunteered to support a veteran home build with their local Habitat for Humanity chapter.
On three Fridays in February, employee volunteers helped clean homes, paint interior walls and tidy the yards of two veteran residences in Lacombe and Slidell, LA alongside the East St. Tammany Habitat for Humanity. This effort was coordinated in conjunction with the Louisiana Veterans Festival taking place in Slidell on May 14.
“We were all proud to work together to give back to someone who has given so much for us,” said Tammy Bourgeois, employee volunteer and SSC materials engineer. “It is an honor to support the men and women who have loyally and bravely served our country and to help them reestablish in our community.”
