Lockheed Martin Awarded Contract by U.S. Army
BETHESDA, MD, August 6th, 1998 -- The U.S. Army Communications & Electronics Command (CECOM), Ft. Monmouth, NJ, has awarded Lockheed Martin a contract for Rapid Response to Critical Requirements (R2CSR) Support. Lockheed Martin is one of three contractors awarded this Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (ID/IQ) contract designed to ensure that critical systems maintain full functionality and operability. The total contract has an estimated maximum value of almost $1.8 billion over a five-year period. The work to be performed is diverse, and will include, but not be limited to, engineering services, studies, analyses, replacement parts, manufacturing, repair capability, and installation and integration capabilities. The goal of the Lockheed Martin team will be to extend the useful life of existing military systems at an affordable price in a quick response environment on a global scale

Lockheed Martin Systems Support & Training Services (SS&TS) is the lead operating component for the Lockheed Martin team supporting the R2CSR contract.
The team consists of eight other Lockheed Martin Companies across three Sectors, and includes Sanders, Control Systems, Federal Systems Owego, Government Electronics Systems, Electronics & Missiles, Information Systems, Mission Systems and Logistics Services, and eleven subcontractors including SAIC, Logicon, L3 Communications and the US Army Depot at Tobyhanna.
SS&TS is part of the Lockheed Martin Technology Services Group (TSG), a unit of the Corporation's Information & Services Sector. TSG has over 50 years of experience providing technical and management services for DoD and other government agencies around the world. Approximately 19,000 TSG employees are working on more than 150 contracts at over 300 sites in 16 countries.
