Formtek Product & Services Adopted for $1.3 Million Enterprise Integrated Document Management System for Lockheed Martin Mission Systems & Client
ORLANDO, FL, March 23rd, 1999 -- Lockheed Martin Integrated Business Solutions (IBS), a leader in the integrated document management (IDM) marketplace, was recently awarded a two-year $1.3M contract with Lockheed Martin Mission Systems (LMMS), Colorado Springs. Under this contract, IBS will provide LMMS with Formtek:Orion data management software and engineering services, as well as Continuous Acquisition & Logistics Support (CALS)/Contractor Integrated Technical Information Service (CITIS) and Common Operating Environment (COE) consulting services, for a major LMMS international defense client. This order includes Formtek:Orion(TM) data management software, and system integration services for handling volumes of Microsoft(TM) office documents, and for the management of program data during the initial two-year design phase. Formtek:Orion software is Y2K compliant. It also runs on Windows NT(R), Windows(R) 95, Windows 98 and UNIX(R) platforms, and utilizes Oracle8(TM) relational database. The Formtek:Orion data management software will provide the geographically dispersed Mission Systems project team and the end customer with automatic access to the latest released revision of all project data, while preserving an audit trail of all changes. Project administration is dramatically reduced, eliminating the need for set-up and maintenance of shared NT directories and web servers while substantially increasing security to protect project sensitive data. All project data is available to team members through a standard web browser interface, further reducing project setup and administration expenses. "The challenge in this complex LMMS project is to share critical information across organizationally and geographically separated systems. Information must be usable throughout the expected lifetime of the project," said Robert Krause, Program Manager, LMMS. "Formtek:Orion software provides an established, proven enterprise integrated document management system. It provides our entire project team, customer and contractor, with a single source of secure, efficient, scalable and flexible infrastructure data. Data, once captured, can be re-used in different integrations," added Mr. Krause. "IBS is proud to have played a critical role in this international customer win with LMMS," said Dennis M. Scanlon, Vice President, Integrated Document Management Solutions for IBS. "This implementation demonstrates another industry example of Formtek:Orion software enabling a collaborative virtual project development environment."
