LOCKHEED MARTIN ANNOUNCES RETIREMENT OF THOMAS A. CORCORAN

BETHESDA, MD, September 2nd, 1999 -- Lockheed Martin Corporation today announced the retirement of Thomas A. Corcoran from his position as president and COO of the Corporation's space & strategic missiles sector and the appointment Albert E. Smith as acting president and COO of that sector. Corcoran is retiring, effective October 1, to accept the position of President and CEO of Allegheny Teledyne of Pittsburgh, Penn. Smith is currently president of Lockheed Martin Missiles & Space in Sunnyvale, Calif., and effective immediately, with a period of transition with Tom Corcoran, will also assume duties as acting sector president.

During the past year Tom's leadership in the space sector has brought renewed focus on Mission Success and customer satisfaction and his 3 1/2 years in the electronic sector were marked with significant achievement.
