LOCKHEED MARTIN ENGINEERS DEMONSTRATE SPACE DAY TECHNOLOGIES AT JEFFERSON ELEMENTARY
NEW ORLEANS, LA., 18-APR-00 -- As part of annual Space Day activities, Lockheed Martin engineers are demonstrating the latest technologies before inquisitive school children today (Tuesday, April 18) at Jefferson Elementary School. The engineers are giving interactive presentations from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.
Specifically, the engineers are demonstrating technologies they use on the Space Shuttle External Tank that Lockheed Martin designs and builds for NASA at the Michoud Assembly Facility in New Orleans. Engineers will also be talking to students about advanced technologies the company is developing. Jefferson Elementary is one of Lockheed Martin’s partner schools.
The school is located at 375 Vinet or 4400 Jefferson Highway near Ochsner Hospital. The telephone number at Jefferson Elementary is 733-9461. The school is already aware media may cover the event. Ms. Carolyn Sanders O’Hare is principal.
To get to Jefferson Elementary, take Clearview or Earhart Blvd to Jefferson Highway. Left off Clearview onto Jefferson Highway. Go eight blocks to Newman Street and right toward the river. There’s a McKenzie’s Bakery there. You should see the school.
