Lockheed Martin Information Systems Achieves SEI Level 4 Software Certification
ORLANDO, FL, 11-JUL-00 -- Lockheed Martin Information Systems is the most recent unit within Lockheed Martin Corporation (NYSE: LMT) to attain the Software Engineering Institute (SEI) Capability Maturity Model (CMM) Level 4 certification. With 11 companies now assessed at levels 4 and 5, Lockheed Martin has more high maturity software development organizations than any other company in the world.
Our software processes were assessed to be SEI Level 4 as a result of our determination to maintain top level skills and procedures, said Lockheed Martin Information Systems President John Hallal. Accomplishments such as achieving SEI Level 4 certification help us maintain our position as a world leader in simulation and training, support and test systems, and information and identification technologies.
The Software Engineering Institute is a federally funded research and development center sponsored by the U.S. Department of Defense and operated by Carnegie Mellon University. The Department of Defense established the Software Engineering Institute to advance the practice of software engineering.
