LOCKHEED MARTIN NAMES BARBER DIRECTOR OF MEDICAL SERVICES
NEW ORLEANS, LA., 08-NOV-00 -- Lockheed Martin Space Systems Company -- Michoud Operations has named Marleece S. Barber director of Medical Services at NASA’s Michoud Assembly Facility. Dr. Barber’s responsibilities include diagnosing and treating work-related illness and injury. She will also provide counseling on safe workplace habits and oversee wellness and preventive health programs for Lockheed Martin’s 2,400 employees.
Previously, Dr. Barber served as a center physician at Concentra Medical Centers in New Orleans.
Dr. Barber holds a bachelor of science degree from Dillard University and is a graduate of the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. She served as an internal medicine resident at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, New York, and at the Tulane School of Medicine.
She is a diplomat of the American Board of Internal Medicine and a member of the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine.
Lockheed Martin Space Systems Company -- Michoud Operations designs and assembles large aluminum and composite structures for aerospace and other applications, including the Space Shuttle External Tank and the X-33 technology demonstration vehicle.
