LOCKHEED MARTIN ENGINEERS TO JUDGE SPACE DAY CONTEST AT JEFFERSON ELEMENTARY
NEW ORLEANS, LA., 24-APR-01 -- As part of Space Day activities, Lockheed Martin engineers will spend a day at Jefferson Elementary School on Wednesday, April 25, judging spaceship models and giving presentations about the Space Shuttle External Tank that the engineers work on.
The interactive presentations are scheduled at 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. Engineers will demonstrate technologies they use on the External Tank that Lockheed Martin designs and builds for NASA at the Michoud Assembly Facility. Engineers will also talk with students about advanced technologies the company is developing.
Contest judging begins at 12 noon at the school. Jefferson Elementary is one of Lockheed Martin’s partner schools.
