Lockheed Martin Receives Prestigious Inroads Corporate Award For Commitment To Minority Students
EAGAN, MN, 16-AUG-01 -- Lockheed Martin Naval Electronics & Surveillance Systems -Tactical Systems (LM NE&SS-Tactical Systems), located in Eagan, Minn., has received the INROADS Corporate Plus award which recognizes Lockheed Martin's efforts to develop talented minority students for professional careers. The Corporate Plus award was presented at the 22nd Annual Recognition Banquet at the Minneapolis Hilton. The award represents the highest level of recognition given at the INROADS affiliate level.
INROADS is an organization committed to helping business and industry develop talented minority college students for professional careers through a year-round experience. The program provides summer employment at a participating company, training workshops, staff coaching, and community service.
The Corporate Plus award is given to companies that implement INROADS fundamentals, which includes a career development plan for each intern and effective one-on-one mentoring relationships. There are currently five INROADS interns employed at Lockheed Martin NE&SS-Tactical Systems this summer.
