Lockheed Martin Names Controller

BETHESDA, MD, 19-JUL-01 -- Lockheed Martin Corporation (NYSE: LMT) today named Rajeev Bhalla, 38, as Vice President and Controller. He succeeds Christopher E. Kubasik, who was named Chief Financial Officer earlier this year. We are extremely pleased to have Rajeev as a member of our team. His financial background and depth of experience-especially in the aerospace and defense arena-will serve Lockheed Martin well, said Lockheed Martin Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Vance Coffman.

Bhalla joins Lockheed Martin from the accounting firm of PriceWaterhouseCoopers, where he was a Partner. He began his career in the company's Boston office as a member of the audit staff and progressed to increasingly responsible senior management positions, serving major multi-national corporate clients. He gained significant experience in divestitures, government contracting and due diligence.

Bhalla is a 1986 graduate of the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and a Certified Public Accountant. He serves on the Board of Directors of the American Red Cross and is a trustee of the Big Brothers/Big Sisters organization. He currently resides in Avon, Connecticut, with his wife, Jacqueline, and three daughters.
