Lockheed Martin Systems Integration - Owego Achieves ISO 9001:2000 Registration
OWEGO, NY, 27-JUN-01 -- Lockheed Martin Systems Integration - Owego received the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001:2000 registration from the National Quality Assurance organization, becoming one of the first in the country to earn certification at this level. Following an intensive audit of its quality system, the National Quality Assurance announced the company's quality system met the requirements of the ISO 9001:2000 standard. The company successfully passed the audit with a satisfactory, the highest rating that can be achieved.
The ISO 9001 standard was updated and released in December of 2000. The updated standard is different from the 1994 version in that it takes an overall enterprise and process management view of a business or organization. It has increased emphasis on business objectives, customer satisfaction, measurements and metrics, process and process improvement and compliant products and services.
