Lockheed Martin Mourns the Loss of Employee In Pentagon Crash
BETHESDA, MD, 14-SEP-01 -- Lockheed Martin mourns the loss of employee Robert R. Ploger III and his wife Zandra Cooper, who were killed in Tuesday's terrorist attack on the Pentagon. Ploger, 59, was a senior systems architect at Lockheed Martin Mission Systems in Gaithersburg, Md. He and his wife were aboard American Airlines Flight 77, which was hijacked and crashed into the Pentagon. They were residents of Annandale, Va. Our deepest sympathies are extended to their families and friends, said Chairman and CEO Vance Coffman. Bob was an outstanding technologist and lead systems architect for some of our most important programs, and he will be dearly missed.
Ploger was a 20-year employee of Lockheed Martin who worked primarily on research and development projects.
