SAN DIEGO, CA, April 22nd, 2002 -- Lockheed Martin and Siemens Dematic, two leading postal automation and recognition technology providers, today announced an agreement to combine and market their optical character recognition (OCR) technologies for the commercial mailing industry. The relationship will leverage the complementary OCR technologies of the two companies to deliver the highest read rates in the mailing industry. According to Cynthia Sailar, vice president of Enterprise Mail for Lockheed Martin Distribution Technologies, "The goal of the agreement is to combine the two leading OCR's and make them even stronger.
