LOCKHEED MARTIN DONATES HARD DRIVES FOR BLOOD DRIVE
NEW ORLEANS, LA., January 25th, 2002 -- Beginning Monday, January 28, Lockheed Martin employees will do their part to help replenish The Blood Center’s critical low blood supplies with a weeklong drive. But this time, the company will provide to the organization another badly needed commodity – in the form of computers and office and electronic equipment to help The Blood Center with its training and recruitment.
The activity will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, January 28 at the NASA Michoud Assembly Facility where Lockheed Martin builds the Space Shuttle External Tank.
As the single largest contributor to The Blood Center in the New Orleans area, Lockheed Martin donates approximately 1,500 units of blood each year during its three employee blood drives. The company also donates its used equipment to non-profit organizations and schools.
Representatives from Lockheed Martin and The Blood Center will be on hand to talk with reporters and photographers. Please come to Building 350 and park in Visitor Parking at the NASA Michoud Assembly Facility. Come in and see the receptionist about a media pass.
