Lockheed Martin Names Chris Edwards as Head of Camden, Ark., Operations
DALLAS, TX, May 15th, 2002 -- Lockheed Martin has named Chris R. Edwards General Manager of Camden Operations. Edwards will assume leadership of Camden Operations effective immediately. In his new role, Edwards will be responsible for all activities at the Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control Camden Facility, and will lead the transition to production of several major programs in the next few years at the site.
He replaces Tommy Thompson, who had been acting in the role of Camden General Manager. Thompson will return to his position as General Manager of Lufkin Operations.

"The company is introducing several new products to the production mix in Camden, including the new Patriot PAC-3 Missile. Chris has the experience and insight necessary to successfully guide Camden Operations into the future."
Edwards began his career with Lockheed Martin in 1986, and has held various leadership positions in the company's Production Operations group. His most recent assignment was as Manager - Manufacturing, leading the Manufacturing and Production Engineering activities in Dallas. Edwards brings to this position a strong technical background with manufacturing program development and transition experience that will be key to the continued success of Camden Operations.
Edwards has his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Brigham Young University and his M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington.
