NEW ORLEANS EAST ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT PLAN TO BE UNVEILED

NEW ORLEANS, LA., November 27th, 2002 -- Louisiana State Senator Jon Johnson and area political, business and educational leaders will participate in the launching of the New Orleans East Economic Development Plan at 11:30 a.m. Monday, December 2 at the NASA Michoud Assembly Facility. 

Representatives from Burk-Kleinpeter, Inc. will discuss the strategic approach for putting the economic development study together. The study will be used to formulate an economic development plan for New Orleans East and will be part of Mayor Ray Nagin’s overall economic development program for the city. Sen. Johnson will also discuss his expectations of how the plan might be used to improve the economic climate of New Orleans East.

After a working lunch, the group will tour the NASA Michoud Assembly Facility where Lockheed Martin builds the Space Shuttle External Tank.
