PILOT, FORMER ASTRONAUT TO KICK OFF SPACE SEEKER CONTEST AT IMAX THEATRE

NEW ORLEANS, LA., October 7th, 2002 -- Current Southwest Airlines first officer and former NASA astronaut Kevin Kregel will formally kick off the Space Seekers educational contest at Entergy IMAX® Theatre at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, October 8.

In recognition of the IMAX® “Space Station 3D” film and the upcoming 100th anniversary of human flight, Space Seekers will reward 25 fourth and fifth grade students who correctly answer questions on air and space flight with a chance to win a roundtrip flight aboard Southwest Airlines to Space Center Houston at the NASA Johnson Space Center.

Kregel, a Southwest Airlines first officer since March 2002, is a veteran of four Space Shuttle flights and over 52 days in space. His flight experience includes over 5,000 hours in 30 types of civil and military aircraft.
