STUDENTS TO PLANT TREE IN MEMORY OF COLUMBIA

NEW ORLEANS, LA., 30-APR-03 -- In recognition of national “Space Day” on May 1, students from Jefferson Elementary School will join Lockheed Martin representatives to honor the crew of the Space Shuttle Columbia in a tree planting ceremony to be held at 10:30 a.m. at the school.

Space Day encourages science, math and technology education by inspiring children to realize the vision of our space pioneers. National Space Day spokesman is former astronaut and U.S. Senator John Glenn. For additional information on national Space Day activities, go to www.spaceday.com

Jefferson Elementary is located at 375 Vinet or 4400 Jefferson Highway, west of Ochsner Foundation Hospital.
