Four Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Employees Honored with National Technical Awards
FORT WORTH, Texas, 18-SEP-03 -- Four employees of Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company have been named to receive prestigious achievement awards by national technical organizations that honor African American, Hispanic and women engineers.
The awards are being presented by three different organizations at events in September and October.
Two employees were named to receive Women of Color Research Sciences and Technology Awards this fall. Regina Nicholson of F/A-22 specialty engineering at the Lockheed Martin facility in Marietta, Ga., received a Community Service Award, and Faye Young, a materials and processes engineer at the company's site in Palmdale, Calif., received a Research Leadership Award. These awards were presented September 13 in Nashville, Tenn.
Women in Aerospace (WIA) awarded Blair Marks, director of the C-5 Avionics Modernization Program at the Lockheed Martin site in Marietta, Ga., the organization's Leadership Award. The presentation took place September 16 in Washington, D.C.
Nicole L. Zirkelback, an engineer on the C-5 Avionics Modernization Program (AMP) at Marietta, has been named Most Promising Engineer in the Advanced Degree category of the Hispanic Engineer National Achievement Awards. The presentation is set for October 17 in Austin, Texas.
