JEFFERSON ELEMENTARY CELEBRATES SPACE DAY AND 100TH YEAR OF FLIGHT
NEW ORLEANS, LA, 17-MAY-04 -- Wilbur and Orville made their famous flight 100 years ago. To commemorate that flight, students at Jefferson Elementary will present a play acknowledging invention as part of Lockheed Martin Space Day activities at the school.
The performance will take place at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 18 at Jefferson Elementary located at 375 Vinet or 4400 Jefferson Highway, west of Ochsner Foundation Hospital. Media are invited to attend the play.
Space Day encourages science, math and technology education by inspiring children to realize the vision of our space pioneers. Lockheed Martin employees will also make several presentations to students on the country’s new space vision and progress in returning the Space Shuttle to flight.
