Lockheed Martin Subcontractor Cimarron, Inc. Wins NASA's Woman Owned Business of the Year Award

GREENBELT, MD, 09/10/2004 -- Lockheed Martin [NYSE: LMT] subcontractor Cimarron, Inc. of Houston, Texas yesterday received NASA’s Woman Owned Business of the Year award at NASA’s Annual Minority Business and Advocates Awards Ceremony in Washington, DC.

Lockheed Martin Space Operations (LMSO) nominated Cimarron, headed by Ms. Rosalind Roz Doyle, for the award to recognize Cimarron’s significant contributions to the Mission Support Operations Contract (MSOC). This contract recently received a $178.5 million two-year extension from NASA, which brings the total contract value to over $245 million.

Under the MSOC, LMSO and its team of subcontractors will provide space operations and data services support for Space Shuttle missions and International Space Station expeditions. These services include mission operations and planning ground systems support for the Mission Control Center at Johnson Space Center (JSC) in Houston, as well as ground systems services for JSC's Emergency Operations Center, the Electronic System Test Laboratory and Space Communications Integration. LMSO will also provide ground system services for the Houston Support Room/Backup Command and Control Center in Russia, and an Integrated Planning System.

Lockheed Martin Space Operations Vice President and MSOC Program Manager Dan Brandenstein said, We're so proud to have Cimarron on the MSOC team. As our largest subcontractor on MSOC, Cimarron plays a critical role in achieving mission success for our customer.

It's an honor to have our performance recognized by this award, said Rosalind Doyle, Cimarron's Chief Executive Officer. The men and women of Cimarron have worked incredibly hard to support the contract requirements, and to help NASA bring their new vision for space exploration to reality.

Lockheed Martin Space Operations (LMSO) is a high-technology company specializing in space-related support services for primarily government customers that bring low-price, one-stop shopping in the following core competencies: Project Management; Systems Engineering and Integration; Earth, Space, and Life Sciences; Software Development and Information Technology; and On-site Operational Support Services.
