LOCKHEED MARTIN HONORS EMPLOYEES FOR MORE THAN 12,000 HOURS OF VOLUNTEER SERVICE
EAGAN, MN, 28-APR-05 -- Lockheed Martin recognized more than 100 employees for volunteer service exceeding 12,000 hours throughout the Twin Cities area during 2004. More than 130 awards were presented to employees at a breakfast during National Volunteers Week, including 30 awards for employees who qualified for the President's Volunteer Service award by donating over 100 hours of their time last year.
Lockheed Martin employees worked to improve educational opportunities for students; sponsored dozens of charitable organizations in the area including United Way, Junior Achievement, and STEPS; and participated in projects that support families in our community.
“We’re proud of the employees that take seriously the commitment to give back to the communities where they live and work, said Richard F. Ambrose, president of Lockheed Martin Maritime Systems & Sensors’ Tactical Systems line of business. “Over 12,000 hours of volunteer service is an outstanding achievement.”
