Lockheed Martin Signs CMD Solutions as Authorized Distributor of AeroText (TM) Information Extraction Software
GAITHERSBURG, MD., 02/24/2005 -- Lockheed Martin [NYSE:LMT] announced today that it has signed a distribution agreement enabling CMD Solutions to offer AeroTextTM information extraction software to corporate customers.
CMD Solutions, headquartered in Bogota, N.J., provides IT solutions that help clients comply with new government and industry regulations regarding electronic communications. These regulations require monitoring, supervision and long-term retention for large amounts of unstructured text; such as e-mail, presentations, web pages, and word processor documents.
AeroText software will enable CMD customers to search and extract information from across their IT infrastructures, enabling them to rapidly and efficiently respond to regulatory challenges and proactively identify potential compliance shortcomings.
“Our agreement with CMD Solutions demonstrates the AeroText tool’s wide-ranging applicability,” said Jane Powers, director of Analysis Products & Solutions for Lockheed Martin Integrated Systems & Solutions. “From intelligence gathering for national security to biomedical research, AeroText software can help users quickly extract the information they need from unstructured text. In an information-intensive world, such capability is invaluable.”
Lockheed Martin’s AeroText software finds relevant information, such as entities, relationships and events, automatically in all major formats of natural language text. It not only finds requested information, but also discovers subtle relationships previously unknown to users, significantly reducing research time. It works with multiple languages, can be integrated with other knowledge management tools and can be customized by users to improve search accuracy in specific domains.
“A critical factor in our decision to offer Lockheed Martin’s AeroText software is its proven ability to deliver results in demanding information environments,” said Charles Thomas, president and CEO of CMD Solutions. “Regulations today require companies to retain huge amounts of information, and AeroText software will make it easier for companies to retrieve the information they need when they need it.”
AeroText is a trademark of Lockheed Martin Corporation.
