LOCKHEED MARTIN NAMES JUDY F. MARKS PRESIDENT OF TRANSPORTATION AND SECURITY SOLUTIONS

ROCKVILLE, MD, 10/03/2005 --

Lockheed Martin [NYSE: LMT] today named Judy F. Marks president of its Transportation and Security Solutions (TSS) business, which specializes in advanced aviation management, security and other mission-critical information technology solutions.

Marks joined TSS in May 2005 as the executive vice president responsible for leading program performance and new business pursuits. Through three recent major contract wins, TSS is responsible for developing and operating an information processing system for the nation’s 2010 Census; building a permanent archives system to preserve and manage electronic records created by the federal government; and integrating a comprehensive electronic security infrastructure for the New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority. In addition to starting these new contracts, the organization will continue its strong performance building systems that manage more than 60 percent of the world’s air traffic.

“Lockheed Martin TSS is a leader in executing our corporate strategy to grow by meeting the systems and information technology requirements of civil government customers,” said Robert Coutts, executive vice president for Lockheed Martin’s Electronic Systems Business Area. “With her engineering, business and leadership experience, Judy Marks is ideally suited to lead this enterprise to perform on our current government programs, while positioning our capabilities in growth markets such as critical information management and homeland security.”

With a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Lehigh University, Marks started her career with IBM as a systems engineer. She rapidly advanced into management, serving in a variety of positions including engineering management, program management, business development and marketing. In 2001, she was named president of Lockheed Martin Distribution Technologies in Owego, NY, where she was instrumental in positioning the company to become one of the world’s leading suppliers of automation and recognition systems for national postal providers.
