LOCKHEED MARTIN TO HOST 200 STUDENTS FOR YOUNG MINDS AT WORK PROGRAM

NEW ORLEANS, LA, 26-APR-06 -- Lockheed Martin will participate in Young Minds At Work, a national project that encourages parents to bring their children to work, on Thursday, April 27.

More than 200 students between the ages of ten and 18 will participate from 8 a.m. to
4 p.m. Lockheed Martin Space Systems employs 2,000 workers at the NASA Michoud Assembly Facility where it builds the Space Shuttle External Tank.

Young Minds At Work will introduce students to the company’s role in spaceflight and is designed to spur students’ interest in similar careers.

Morning activities from 9 to 10:15 a.m. will focus on interactive participation in a technical environment – including demonstrations in First Robotics and Moonbuggies plus a factory tour. Students will spend the latter part of the work day with their parents in their work area.
