Lockheed Martin Makes Donation, Highlights Community Service Organization for Veterans

Huntsville, AL, 25-JUL-06 --

Lockheed Martin donated $10,000 to Huntsville-based service organization, Still Serving Veterans (SSV), in a ceremony today, at the Veterans Memorial Museum in Huntsville, AL.

Lockheed Martin made the donation to the SSV, which offers careers and community support to wounded veterans and their families. This donation marks the beginning of a three-year commitment and partnership that Lockheed Martin is making to help the launch of this important new organization.

“Lockheed Martin has a deep respect for our customers’ contributions to this country, and we show our appreciation with outreach support that recognizes their service and improves their quality of life,” said Ron Abbott, executive vice president at Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control. “We partner with them to help them meet their defining moments. At Lockheed Martin, we never forget who we’re working for, and that doesn’t end when they come back from serving our country. We stand side-by-side with our customers every day, and we honor their sacrifices. It is only fitting that we also support their interests.”

“This donation represents the beginning of a three-year commitment that Lockheed Martin is making to help the launch of this important new organization,” continued Abbott. “We are committed to this organization and to the Veterans who have served our country.”

Still Serving Veterans (SSV) is a non-profit service organization proactively committed to long term career development and life skills support for severely wounded veterans and their spouses.
