Lockheed Martin Celebrates 11 Million Safe Work Hours At Hanford Site
SEABROOK, Md., 08/14/2008 -- Lockheed Martin [NYSE:LMT] celebrated 11 million safe work hours and over a decade of commitment to safety at the Hanford Site in Richland, Wash., today.
Since February 28, 1998, the company's employees and subcontractors including field engineers and bargaining unit employees have not had a lost work day contributing to this significant milestone.
To celebrate this milestone, the company held a luncheon event on August 14, 2008 to recognize the efforts of employees and celebrate the success of the program. Among those present were the DOE-RL Site Manager, David Brockman; President & CEO of Fluor Hanford, Inc., Con Murphy; and Lockheed Martin Director and General Manager, Frank Armijo.
This is an incredible accomplishment; by partnering with our customers, we are finding new ways to apply technology to advance the Site's cleanup mission while enhancing worker safety at the same time.
