Lockheed Martin To Set Record Volunteer Effort At Central Florida Primrose Center

ORLANDO, FL, 09/12/2008 -- Record-breaking numbers of Lockheed Martin [NYSE: LMT] volunteers will renovate and rejuvenate the Central Florida Primrose Center as a part of the United Way's annual Day of Caring on Saturday, September 13. The volunteer team represents the largest, single-day corporate volunteer effort in Central Florida.

With more than 900 registrants, Lockheed Martin employees, family members and friends will paint, repair and landscape the Primrose Center, an Orlando not-for-profit organization that supports over 400 adults with developmental disabilities on a daily basis. The Primrose Center helps developmentally-disabled adults develop life-skills and succeed at daily living by providing educational services and therapeutic activities, often helping many find employment.

Lockheed Martin employees are committed to building stronger communities, said Kevin Sheehan, executive champion for the 2008 Lockheed Martin Central Florida Charitable Giving Campaign and member of the Heart of Florida United Way Board of Directors. For more than 50 years, Lockheed Martin employees have lived, worked and volunteered in Central Florida, and the United Way Day of Caring is one way we enjoy coming together to make a local impact each year.

Lockheed Martin has donated all of the materials necessary to paint and provide maintenance services to every building on the Primrose campus, while volunteers will provide the manpower. As a precursor to the Day of Caring, a smaller group of Lockheed Martin employees volunteered at the Primrose Center in June to revitalize the Center's therapeutic garden.

Headquartered in Bethesda, MD., Lockheed Martin is a global security company that employs about 140,000 people worldwide and is principally engaged in the research, design, development, manufacture, integration and sustainment of advanced technology systems, products and services. The corporation reported 2007 sales of $41.9 billion.
