Lockheed Martin Employee Named All Star of Technology By Women of Color Magazine

HAMPTON, Va., October 8, 2009 – Lockheed Martin announced today that one of its employees, Romelin Adams, has been named a 2009 All Star of Technology by Women of Color magazine. Technology All Star honorees are recognized for their demonstrated technical achievement and community involvement and serve as outstanding role models to young women.

“In our dynamic environment, Romelin has been a catalyst who energizes the team whether leading an activity or as a team member,” said DeEtte Gray, vice president of IT Services for Lockheed Martin’s IS&GS-Defense. “She has continuously demonstrated leadership characteristics beyond her years of experience. It is no wonder she is considered an outstanding role model for young engineers.”

Since joining Lockheed Martin in 2005, Romelin has made key contributions through a number of tasks and assignments. As a Senior Systems Administrator,her role with Lockheed Martin is one that requires a diverse level of knowledge on technology platforms including personal computers, video teleconferencing, servers, networking devices, personal digital assistants, printers and scanners.

Romelin graduated from the University of Memphis in 1998 with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management Information Systems. She holds a Masters Degree in Information Technology from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, Blacksburg, Va.

All Star award recipients are honored at a special recognition event during the Women of Color Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) conference, which recognizes the significant accomplishments of minority women in the digital world, and attracts and leverages talent in innovative, professional, and technical positions.
