Central Florida Lockheed Martin Employees Receive Prestigious Nova Award
ORLANDO, Fla., November 7, 2011 --
Lockheed Martin [NYSE: LMT] has awarded 17 employees from its Central Florida-area business units with the corporation's highest recognition for individual and team achievements, the NOVA Award.
"The 2011 NOVA recipients exemplify the can-do spirit and uncompromising integrity our customers expect from us - and deserve," said Bob Stevens, Lockheed Martin's Chairman and CEO. "For that, we owe our NOVA honorees our gratitude. Those honored represent the ‘best of the best' of our outstanding workforce."
The NOVA Award is presented annually to less than one percent of the corporation's employees for their outstanding contributions to Lockheed Martin's mission and business objectives. The Lockheed Martin NOVA Awards were created in 1995. The name "NOVA" aptly describes the contribution of the winners as the bright stars of the corporation.
The 2011 Central Florida-based Lockheed Martin NOVA Award honorees are:
- Tony Minei received an individual NOVA Award for Full Spectrum Leadership. His proposal management efforts were critical to securing a development production contract for the Electronic Consolidated Automated Support System program.
- The Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control (MFC) Earned Value Management Team was selected for a team NOVA Award for transforming MFC's financial reporting tool to an actionable process that helps the organization deliver quality products and services on budget and on schedule.
Orlando team members include: Rich Benton, Dan Chapman, Al Cheesborough, Nan Davis, Ken Groves, Jody Guerrein, Jan Hilton, Alan Hoffman, Mark Jossa, Gerry Leduc, Dan Maddock, Brad Scianna and Juancarlos Stutman.
- The Special Operations Forces Contractor Logistics Support Services (SOF CLSS) Transition Team was selected for a team NOVA Award for the successful transition of the SOF CLSS program from a previous contractor with no impact to warfighters. The team processed 235 new task orders and transitioned 2,800 employees at 54 U.S. and international locations in just 120 days.
Orlando team members include: Mark Guseman, Jack Hampton and Jennifer Vacco.
Awards were presented to 2011 NOVA Award honorees on October 28 during a ceremony held at the Smithsonian Institution's National Air and Space Museum in Washington, D.C.
