Lockheed Martin Wins Role to Provide Cyber Security Services to Government Agencies

ROCKVILLE, Md., Aug. 21, 2013 – Lockheed Martin [NYSE: LMT] has been authorized as a provider of cyber security information technology (IT) services and tools for a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) program to defend federal and other government IT networks from threats.

DHS’ Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation (CDM) program will make advanced cyber security tools and services available to strengthen the security of government networks. The tools will ensure that unclassified government networks will be constantly scanned for threats, defended from attacks and audited for performance. Federal agencies and state, local, tribal and territorial governments can implement CDM.

“As a proven leader in cyber security, Lockheed Martin has been entrusted to protect our nation’s networks for decades,” said Vicki Schmanske, vice president of information technology and security solutions for Lockheed Martin Information Systems & Global Solutions. “With the continuous monitoring program in place, we are extending our cyber security expertise throughout the federal government.”

The blanket purchase agreement with Lockheed Martin has a one-year base period with four, one-year options. Lockheed Martin was one of 17 contractors to be awarded a role on the CDM program, which has a potential ceiling value of $6 billion and can be procured under the General Service Administration Federal Systems Integration and Management Center IT Schedule 70.

As a leading provider of cyber security solutions, Lockheed Martin takes an intelligence-driven defense approach to protecting our nation’s most critical assets. The company has invested in continuous monitoring technology and partnerships with members of the Lockheed Martin Cyber Security Alliance. Beginning in 2009, Lockheed Martin leveraged advances within its NexGen Cyber Innovation and Technology Center and the Lockheed Martin Cyber Security Alliance to implement a comprehensive continuous monitoring solution.

Headquartered in Bethesda, Md., Lockheed Martin is a global security and aerospace company that employs about 116,000 people worldwide and is principally engaged in the research, design, development, manufacture, integration, and sustainment of advanced technology systems, products, and services. The Corporation’s net sales for 2012 were $47.2 billion.
