Lockheed Martin’s expertise and experience of airborne protection extends well beyond platform development. Lockheed Martin has fielded more than 3,000 airborne electronic warfare systems for more than 40 years, including electronic support measure (ESM), radar warning receiver (RWR), electronic intelligence, communications intelligence, and anti-jam GPS products. To date, Lockheed Martin continues production of the lightweight, high-performance, concurrent ESM/ RWR, namely the AN/ALQ-210, for the U.S. Navy and international MH-60R.
Lockheed Martin has also fielded a fixed-wing variant, the AN/ALQ-217, on the U.S. Navy’s E-2C aircraft and are currently producing a variant for the E-2D. Additionally, Lockheed Martin has modernized the targeting ESM system on the U.S. Army and international Apache AH-64D/E aircraft with the digital receiver based Modernized Radar Frequency Interferometer (MRFI) known as the AN/APR-48B. These passive sensor systems protect the warfighter by functioning as the “ears” of advanced tactical aircraft, identifying and locating sources of radio frequency emission and providing a full range of electronic support operations.
To help detect and defeat future threats, Lockheed Martin is miniaturizing the digital receiver ESM systems for fixed, rotary wing, and unmanned aerial system application. Lockheed Martin has already developed several Group 1-5 UAS platforms dedicated to providing ESM and close-in jamming support.
The multi-mission AN/ALQ-210 Electronic Support Measures (ESM) system is your solution to the complex and dense electronic battlefield, providing proven situational awareness and simultaneous threat warning with ELINT quality measurement accuracy. The system is currently in full rate production for the U.S. Navy and International customers.
The AN/APR-48B Modernized Radar Frequency Interferometer (MRFI) is installed on the AH-64E Apache Guardian helicopter and backwards compatible to AH-64D Apache Longbow. Its digital receiver-based signal intercept, positive identification, fast response time and precision Direction Finding (DF) capabilities establish it as both an accurate targeting system and a superior Radar Warning Receiver (RWR) for helicopters.
The AN/ALQ-217 ESM system functions as the highly sophisticated ears of advanced tactical aircraft and is currently installed on the U.S. and International E-2C and E-2D Advanced Hawkeye and P-3C type aircraft. The system protects the warfighter by identifying and locating sources of radio frequency (RF) emission providing a full range of ESM operation with ELINT quality measurement accuracy. The system is currently in full rate production for the U.S. Navy and International customers.
