Future F-35 Leader Visits Production Line
October 15, 2012 - Last week, F-35 Deputy Program Executive Officer (PEO) Maj. Gen. Chris Bogdan made his official inaugural visit to Fort Worth to meet with employees and tour the production line and flight line.
“It was a good, productive visit and I believe he left impressed,” said Orlando Carvalho, Lockheed Martin F-35 Executive Vice President and General Manager. “We were pleased to have Gen. Bogdan here to see the factory, meet the people who build this incredible aircraft, and to have him share his thoughts on how we can better support our customers.”
Gen. Bogdan received a thorough program update highlighting progress as well as briefings on sustainment, supply chain and the international program. He also toured the factory and flight line to meet with employees and get a first hand view of the Lightning II in various stages of production.
“Our time on the production floor and flight line was a highlight of the visit,” said Lorraine Martin, LM F-35 Vice President and Deputy General Manager. “Nothing beats meeting our talented and dedicated employees and seeing an F-35 built from start to finish. Gen. Bogdan was able to get a real sense of the work we’re accomplishing, and I look forward to working with him in the years ahead as he sees this program continue to progress.”
After a meeting with employees on the line, Gen. Bogdan and Carvalho paused to share a few words with the entire F-35 team.
Gen. Bogdan will officially become the F-35 PEO when Vice Adm. Dave Venlet, current F-35 JPO PEO, retires later this year.
