Joint Light Tactical Vehicle (JLTV)

Joint Light Tactical Vehicle (JLTV)

JLTV provides our Joint Warfighter with the very best in light tactical vehicle protection, payload and performance.

The primary goal of JLTV is to provide a Family of Vehicles (FOV), with companion trailers, that are capable of performing multiple mission roles designed to provide protected, sustained and networked mobility for personnel and payloads across the full range of military operations.

JLTV mobility and transportability requirements give commanders the flexibility to traverse diverse terrain across the global operational spectrum, as well as providing the option of rotary wing airlift.

JLTV objectives include increased protection and performance over the current fleet, minimizing ownership costs by maximizing commonality and reliability, increasing fuel efficiency and executing effective competition throughout the program development.

Lockheed Martin has delivered payload category vehicles with right hand operation for the Australian Army. The U.S. and Australia entered into a Land Force Capability Modernization Project Arrangement in January 2009 for the TD phase of the JLTV program, enabling tactical vehicle interoperability and integration between U.S. future forces and Australian land forces.
