On July 18, 2015, the future USS Little Rock got one step closer to patrolling the world’s shorelines and open seas. Lockheed Martin congratulates the U.S. Navy and ship sponsor Janee Bonner, the wife of former Alabama U.S. Rep. Jo Bonner, on the christening of the Little Rock and salutes the industry team that made it happen.

    The ninth littoral combat ship, the future USS Little Rock, was christened and launched into the Menominee River in Marinette, Wisconsin, on July 18. Ship sponsor Mrs. Janée Bonner officially christened the ship by smashing a bottle of champagne across the bow.

    The ninth littoral combat ship, the future USS Little Rock, launched sideways into the Menominee River in Marinette, Wisconsin, on July 18. Ship sponsor Mrs. Janée Bonner conducted the time-honored tradition of christening the ship by smashing a bottle of champagne across the bow.
