Joanne M. Maguire Encourages Students’ Pursuit of Engineering Careers
Lockheed Martin hosted a STEM mentoring activity for Gavilan College’s and San Jose State University’s MESA (Mathematic, Engineering, and Science Achievement) Schools Programs on September 25, 2012. Eighty students and 21 high-level executives from Lockheed Martin Space Systems Company participated in four mentoring roundtable sessions focused on: Career Paths at an Engineering Technology Company, Industry Outlook and Business Overview, College and Career Experiences, and Diversity and Inclusion in the workplace.
Recently named to Fortune’s 50 Most Powerful Women in Business list, Joanne M. Maguire, Executive Vice President of Lockheed Martin Space Systems Company, stated, “Industry plays a vital role in STEM education and our nation’s future. By investing in and mentoring students today, Lockheed Martin is helping to ensure our nation’s continued technological leadership and economic security.
